Must:
We require an experienced AWS Infrastructure Support Engineer with active SC and NPPV3 clearance. You should have a broad range of AWS technologies experience, including EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, and KMS. Strong backgrounds in Windows and Linux system administration are vital, including building, hardening, and managing Linux operating systems. You should be skilled in automating processes using Shell, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell scripting. Additional requirements include expertise in Juniper firewall configuration and patching, proficiency in switch configuration and patching, experience with MS Active Directory configuration and management, and familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Alert Manager, and Node Exporter. Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and change management is also required.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will develop and maintain AWS-based cloud solutions while emphasizing best practices in cloud security. You will be responsible for configuring and managing both Windows and Linux systems, automating processes, and ensuring a high level of system uptime in a 24x7 AWS environment. You will also handle incident and change management and collaborate on infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform and VMs with Vagrant. Your role will include configuring pipelines in Jenkins using Groovy scripts, managing Windows System Update Service, and overseeing DFS replication.
Description
This is a permanent role based in Birmingham, and you will be required to travel to our office 4 to 5 days a week. We are looking for someone who can start immediately, ideally in May or June 2025. This position offers the chance to work with a leading digital transformation business, delivering large-scale, long-term IT projects for the public sector, with a competitive salary of £70,000-£75,000 along with bonuses and benefits.
