- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Punctual, reliable, and self-driven
- Full UK driving license and own vehicle – essential for client site visits
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Broad understanding of IT systems and infrastructure
In addition, we value the following core technical skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10/11
- Experience with Microsoft Office 2016 / Microsoft 365
- Networking knowledge including VPN, VLAN, NAT, DMZ, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 – 2022
- Experience with Office 365 administration
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive Administration
- Skills in router and firewall configuration
Desirable skills, while not essential, include:
- Advanced Windows Server skills (Active Directory, Group Policy Objects)
- Experience with VMWare ESXi / Hyper-V virtualization
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure & cloud technologies
- Knowledge of Cisco and Ubiquiti networking
- Experience with SharePoint configuration
- Familiarity with Veeam backup solutions
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering IT support on-site, remotely, and via phone
- Installing and configuring desktop and server hardware/software
- Troubleshooting routers, firewalls, and wireless networks
- Participating in server monitoring and proactive maintenance
- Managing client projects and upgrades
- Taking ownership of complex technical issues and ensuring resolution
Description
We are a well-established IT support company based in Essex, seeking a motivated IT Support Engineer who is ready to contribute from day one and grow with us for the long term. You will work as part of a small but highly experienced support team, delivering technical support to our long-term client base, primarily within the Essex area. You will engage in both day-to-day IT support and hands-on project work, which includes system installations, server deployments, and infrastructure upgrades. If you are a highly organized IT professional with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
