Requirements

Must:
I am looking for candidates with the following skills and qualifications: - Proficiency in COBOL. - Experience with DMS (hierarchical database) and/or RDMS (relational database). - An understanding of Transaction Processing (TIP/HVTIP) or similar concepts. - A CTC clearance is preferred, but I am open to considering candidates who are eligible for clearance.

Responsibilities

As a Mainframe Application Developer & Support Engineer, your key responsibilities will include: - Providing Software Applications Engineering support for complex applications and project areas. - Performing build and deployment tasks for application development efforts. - Designing and implementing basic requirements that are effective, timely, and compliant with project standards. - Configuring, programming, and testing applications and technical architecture components. - Addressing defects and performance-related issues. - Being accountable for service commitments at an individual request level for in-scope development work. - Reviewing design, coding, and unit testing to ensure project compliance. - Collaborating with the Business Analysis (BA) team to understand requirements and use cases. - Developing sizing for assigned use cases based on input from the BA team. - Independently deploying Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environments. - Working closely with the testing team to identify and resolve existing and newly generated issues, focusing on providing solutions. - Exploring alternative solutions using Design Analysis and Review (DAR) techniques. - Participating in code reviews and collaborating with other developers, designers, and architects to ensure all requirements are met. - Ensuring the integrity of pre-production environments such as development, testing, Quality Assurance, and staging. - Leading efforts in specific process improvement and technical automation areas. - Providing regular status updates to the project lead or manager regarding your work and your team’s progress. - Assisting less experienced team members with their training and tasks.
