We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Support Technician who possesses strong knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Server Configuration: Familiarity with Windows Server, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell.
- Networking: Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and firewall management & security protocols.
- Cloud Technologies: Experience in Microsoft 365 administration.
- Virtualization Technologies: Knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V.
- Database Management: Understanding of SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Security: Skills in patch management, endpoint security, and backup & disaster recovery.

Responsibilities
As part of our IT team, I will engage in several key duties:
- Troubleshooting Hardware and Software: I will diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, as well as common software applications.
- User Account Management: I will assist with user account creation, password resets, and manage access permissions in Active Directory and other systems.
- Incident Logging and Tracking: I will accurately record, track, and update all support tickets in the IT service management system, adhering to ITIL best practices.
- Network Troubleshooting: I will diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and VPN problems.
- Maintaining IT Assets: I will assist in the inventory and tracking of hardware and software assets.
- Providing Onsite and Remote Support: I will deliver both in-person and remote support to users, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- User Training and Documentation: I will provide basic training and create user-friendly documentation to help end-users solve common problems independently.
Description
This position is full-time, requiring 37 hours per week, and is located in Sheffield, UK. The salary ranges from £33,000 to £35,000 per annum.
