Requirements
Must:
I am looking for a candidate with proficiency in C or C++ (one is essential), Ada, and/or JavaScript, along with shell scripting languages, all supported by a solid foundation in software engineering. You should have experience in configuring and maintaining Linux operating systems (Redhat and/or Ubuntu), including Kernel configuration and testing. A passion for software engineering is essential, with the ability to innovate and think critically to address complex software problems. This is a technical support role, so clear communication of technical matters to non-technical stakeholders is a crucial skill. Comfort in working within a team in a collaborative environment, along with good communication and contribution to resolve emerging issues, is also required.
Responsibilities
As a Software Product Support Engineer, you will join a dedicated team that is passionate about software deployment in battlespace Command and Control (C2) weapon systems. You will work as part of a small team to investigate and resolve issues that arise with missile-system middleware solutions. A significant aspect of your role will involve debugging and engineering investigation, as the software complexity demands someone with an inquisitive nature to effectively discuss solutions with our customers. You will be responsible for Linux Operating System configuration, support, and security solution maintenance, and you will have the opportunity to work across multiple applications on both land and maritime projects within the systems software department, engaging with some of the most advanced missile systems in various warfare domains.
