Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Support Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in a similar IT support role. You should possess a strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and server platforms, networking, VPNs, and mobile devices. Experience with Linux, OS X, virtualization (e.g., VMware), backup solutions, and cloud platforms like Azure or AWS is essential. Familiarity with the ITIL framework and process-driven environments is also required. You should have strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills, along with the ability to lead by example, mentor junior staff, and manage multiple support cases. A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Microsoft certifications such as MCP, MCSA, or MCSE would be advantageous. A UK driving license is also required.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will deliver 1st and 2nd line support via our internal service desk and assist with 3rd line support and technical projects under supervision. You will install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, software, and networks, ensuring service requests and incidents are managed in line with our SLAs. Additionally, you will liaise with suppliers for IT equipment and services, contribute to our internal knowledge base, and participate in the on-call rota for extended support hours and weekends. It is important to ensure compliance with our internal processes and documentation standards.
