Senior IT Support Engineer

As the Senior IT Support Engineer / Lead IT Technician, my duties will include: - Supporting and implementing the IT strategy in collaboration with the IT Technician and Senior Leadership Team, adapting to business needs and driving innovation, including AI. - Maintaining regular communication with stakeholders and attending management meetings, providing reports as required. - Managing the daily tasks of the IT Technician, offering support, feedback, and promoting professional development. - Ensuring optimal performance of servers, networks, and related systems while proactively monitoring to prevent downtime. - Maintaining and monitoring firewalls, antivirus, and web filtering to safeguard systems. - Overseeing software distribution, updates, and ensuring licensing compliance. - Implementing robust backup and recovery procedures to protect business continuity. - Advising on equipment needs, supporting stock management, and contributing to IT budget planning. - Maintaining inventories, managing user accounts, and ensuring correct disposal of end-of-life equipment. - Troubleshooting phone systems, LAN, cabling, and maintaining Windows environments. - Repairing, upgrading, and configuring IT equipment and applications. - Supporting and training staff in effective IT use, fostering digital capability across the organization. - Managing the IT tech room, equipment spares, printers, and consumables. - Working flexibly, including outside normal hours when required.
