IT Systems Engineer / 2nd and 3rd Line Support Technician

As our IT Systems Engineer / 2nd Line & 3rd Line Support Technician, you will be responsible for: - Technical planning and implementation of End User Computing activities such as desktop builds and group policy deployments. - Developing and supporting Windows and Linux Servers on associated hardware. - Developing and supporting Virtualized Servers (e.g., using VMware or Nutanix). - Configuring and deploying Applications (e.g., using System Center Configuration Manager, Citrix, Intune, JAMF) and providing third line support where required. - VDI development and support. - Developing and managing the university's Identity Management Systems. - Administering, maintaining, and supporting M365 services, providing and implementing recommendations for change. - SAN management and development. - Developing and supporting Windows 10/11 and macOS systems and associated applications (e.g., Office 365, Adobe CC Suite, Engineering Applications, etc.). - Ensuring that all relevant support documentation is maintained to reflect changes and additions to the university’s infrastructure. - Adhering to and contributing to change control processes. - Adhering to project development standards. - Ensuring work is delivered in accordance with current IT security and quality standards and procedures. - Acting as a mentor to colleagues in developing their technical skills and understanding of the university's IT systems and standards.
