Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Ability to define requirements for CI/CD pipelines, inform their design, and guide their implementation.
- Understanding of the implications of heavy automation and how it impacts wider processes.
- ITIL knowledge or qualification is highly desirable.
- Understanding of IT governance, quality, and risk management alongside automation.
Responsibilities
- Shape the future state of release management, with a strong emphasis on transformation towards automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Design, influence, and embed the vision of release management both internally and externally, while ensuring existing good practices are maintained.
- Confidently communicate and advocate for the CI/CD vision at industry forums.
- Provide reassurance and support for stakeholders who may be apprehensive about the changes.
- Secure buy-in across the business, suppliers, and system integrators through strong influencing skills.
- Collaborate closely with the chosen system integrator to define, improve, and implement release processes.
- Contribute requirements and vision into the broader tendering process to ensure value for money and alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with existing release managers in operations to maintain continuity during the transition while driving transformation.
