Charing Cross, South East London

Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with experience in a product engineering or technical business analyst role within a software product company. You should have a strong grasp of modern product delivery practices, including agile ceremonies and backlog management. Excellent written specifications and structured documentation skills are essential, as well as the ability to read code at a basic level. You should be comfortable querying data and writing simple SQL for validation and analysis. Experience working with offshore engineering partners is required, and proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Figma, and an API documentation platform is essential.
Nice to have:
Exposure to observability and support workflows, such as Grafana or similar tools, is beneficial. Experience in UX or service design research and the ability to translate insights into requirements would also be advantageous. Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD concepts, along with a background in healthtech, B2B SaaS, or compliance-heavy domains, would be a plus.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will bring in a Technical Business Analyst/Product Engineer to act as the bridge between product strategy and technical execution. I will ensure clear requirements, crisp acceptance criteria, and zero ambiguity in hand-offs. Key responsibilities will include translating goals and discovery outcomes into specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test plans. I will own the backlog for one or more product areas, driving grooming, sprint planning, and ensuring readiness for our engineering partner. I will create high-quality documentation for flows, edge cases, and integration points, including runbooks for incidents and support. Additionally, I will partner with our engineering partner to remove blockers, align on scope, and ensure delivery quality across different time zones. Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Quality Assurance (QA) by defining test scenarios, validating against acceptance criteria, and signing off on releases will also be part of my responsibilities. I will surface trade-offs and risks early, proposing options that balance user value, effort, and technical constraints. Furthermore, I will improve ways of working with lightweight templates, checklists, and post-release reviews and contribute to migration planning by mapping legacy behaviors to new platform capabilities and capturing decisions.
