Requirements

Must:
We’re looking for candidates with expert knowledge of running, managing, or using systems within a manufacturing environment. Good telephone skills and the ability to provide technical support over the phone are essential. You should possess logical problem-solving skills and techniques, along with strong analytical and communication skills to effectively converse with business users. Experience working within a multi-site organization or group is required. Additionally, you should have good knowledge of server operating systems with a focus on Windows Server 2003/Active Directory, as well as desktop operating systems and associated hardware and software (MS Office/Lotus Notes). Familiarity with leading business applications (ERP/CRM/SCM/HR) is important, along with strong planning, communication, and presentation skills. You should appreciate the critical role that service desk operations play in shaping IT-business relationships. A full and clean UK driver’s license and a personal vehicle are mandatory, and you may occasionally be required to work outside of core hours.

Responsibilities

As a Mobile Support Engineer, I will rely on you to respond to and resolve support calls allocated to the mobile support team. You will perform installations, configurations, operations, and maintenance of business-critical systems across multiple sites. This includes managing support calls consistently, ensuring a courteous and clear approach according to agreed standards, and prioritizing them based on business impact. Providing an excellent customer experience is paramount, and I expect you to continually improve on it. You will handle Business Critical tickets appropriately, escalating them to the relevant escalation groups when necessary. Identifying articles for publication to end-users and the service desk to support user self-service and first-line resolution is also essential. Performing root cause analysis to identify corrective actions to prevent repeat issues, and collaborating with support teams, the business, and partners is expected. Building strong working relationships with site General Managers and key stakeholders to understand the impact of IT services from changes or amendments to business processes is critical, along with conducting regular system monitoring and alerting to verify resource integrity and availability. You will also support service transition and integration activities.
