Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer who possesses the following qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of three years of equivalent work experience within an IT Support / Managed Service Provider environment.
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practice and frameworks.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Windows Server Environments.
- Deep working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with Desktop OS (Windows 7/8/10/11) and Remote Desktop Services (such as VDI).
- A solid understanding of network infrastructure, including design and implementation of server infrastructure and upgrade experience.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with Firewalls, including configuration and installation.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective verbal and written communication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Flexibility to travel for projects when required.
- A drive to learn new technologies and self-improve.
Responsibilities
As a Senior IT Support Engineer, I will require you to:
- Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support across our customer base via phone or email.
- Record and update all incidents and problems thoroughly using our ITSM system.
- Take ownership of all support tickets, adhering to first response and fix SLAs as part of our support procedures.
- Communicate effectively to ensure swift resolution at both technical and end-user levels.
- Maintain high levels of customer service for all support queries.
- Keep accurate resolution documentation in our knowledge base repositories.
- Train and mentor our 1st line team to build their knowledge.
- Liaise with 3rd party solution providers and develop excellent working relationships.
- Be proactively involved in planning and delivering projects while remaining adaptable to project needs.
- Attend customer sites for repairs and new installations of equipment such as Firewalls, Servers, and Workstations.
