Requirements
Must:
- I have excellent customer communication skills.
- I can work on my own initiative.
- I possess good written skills for job reporting and documentation.
- I have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in supporting servers, networks, printers, PCs, and applications.
- I have proven experience with enterprise and mainstream technologies, primarily focusing on Microsoft front/backend products, anti-virus, and backup platforms.
- I have experience with additional enterprise technologies such as Citrix, VMware, and Cisco, which are desirable.
- I possess relevant experience in managing, maintaining, and supporting peripheral equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and printers.
- Industry-recognized accreditations such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCA, and CCNA are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- I will provide 2nd line technical support for all customers.
- I will ensure customer incidents are resolved as quickly as possible, both on-site and off-site.
- I will take responsibility for exceeding department Service Level Agreements.
- I will work closely with 1st and 2nd line technical support and other field engineers to maintain a high level of communication.
- I will provide technical guidance to the helpdesk team and field engineers.
- I will ensure that customer and office solutions equipment/goods are installed to appropriate standards and industry best practices.
- I will occasionally support managed services operations, including weekend tasks.
- I will assist the service team with the technical design, implementation, and support of customer incidents and projects.
- I will undertake customer audits and create appropriate documentation.
- I will create and maintain suitable customer infrastructure/service documentation.
- I will assist with the planning of internal and customer project work.
- I will be accountable for the change control process and the upkeep of digital records.
- I will ensure that each service incident or installation is tested according to the client’s sign-off process and that this information is stored correctly.
- I will undertake tasks identified by the service helpdesk, service team leader, or technical manager.
- I will seek and highlight additional opportunities while reviewing customer infrastructures.
Description

The salary ranges from £30,000 to £35,000, depending on experience. Our location is close to the center of Northampton in a modern office space, equipped with top-of-the-range technology for both office and home working (including laptops, screens, and the latest iPhone). We also provide subsidized healthcare/medical benefits, and annual leave ranges from 25 to 30 days plus bank holidays, with an option for an additional 2 weeks unpaid leave.
