Requirements
Must:
- Proven IT leadership experience in a complex, multi-site organization (500+ employees).
- Expertise in infrastructure (VMWare, Simplivity), cloud (Azure/O365), networking, and end-user computing.
- Strong understanding of IT security, governance, and compliance.
- Experience managing IT budgets, vendors, and transformation programs.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at an executive level.
- A people-focused leadership style that builds trust, inspires performance, and encourages innovation.

Responsibilities
- Execute our internal IT strategy aligned with business and HP technology standards.
- Lead technology modernization initiatives – from cloud adoption to network optimization.
- Oversee IT operations and service delivery across multiple UK and European sites.
- Manage budgets, vendors, and performance metrics to ensure operational excellence.
- Champion cybersecurity, compliance (ISO 27001, GDPR, Cyber Essentials Plus, NIS2, DORA), and governance.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Lead key change programs, including ERP implementation, system migrations, and infrastructure transformation.
- Partner with HP and senior leaders to identify opportunities for digital enablement and automation.
Description
At Apogee, we are seeking a visionary Head of IT to lead our internal IT operations across the UK and Europe. Reporting to the IT Director, you will oversee a multi-disciplinary team of 13 covering infrastructure, networking, systems administration, end-user computing, application development, and service delivery. You will ensure our systems are secure, scalable, and high-performing while driving innovation and aligning with business goals. This role presents a unique opportunity to influence the future of IT at Apogee, guiding our digital transformation and enabling our people to thrive through technology. We value a typical working pattern from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with a one-hour lunch break. This role offers flexibility to work from home, typically two days per week. Attendance at our offices is required periodically for team meetings and training.
