Responsibilities
In the role of Engineering Manager, you will lead an organization of 4-10 development and test engineers globally to efficiently produce high-quality deliverables. You will manage team leads, direct reports, or a combination of both, while overseeing multiple deliverables for a product line to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. It will be your responsibility to monitor and instrument processes, produce progress scorecards regularly, and establish a cadence for operational reviews with management that includes quality metrics, coding efficiencies, and improvement plans. You will correlate, report, and drive the adoption of process and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will recruit and provide leadership, coaching, and career planning for engineering talent, while being accountable for design decisions related to new and existing application development. You will partner with Product Management to consult on solution feasibility and provide high-level effort estimations. It is also essential to make recommendations for technology adoption and framework improvements by analyzing trends, patterns, and best practices in software development. Serving as an evangelist and custodian of technology and product development practices, you will participate in the design and implementation of production cloud-grade services that support high availability.

The ability to work independently as a contributing member of a fast-paced and focused team is essential, as is the capability to multitask and prioritize tasks that have competing deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary, along with the ability to work well under pressure. You should be able to socialize ideas and influence decisions even without direct authority. A collaborative nature is ideal, with a strong willingness to dig into problems and learn both independently and by asking questions. Itβs important to consider best-practice standards as well as departmental policies and procedures while performing your duties.
