Requirements

Must:
• Experience: 3+ years in engineering leadership roles, with a proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. • Technical Expertise: Strong background in software development and architecture. Expertise in modern tech stacks (e.g., TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, cloud platforms like AWS). Hands-on experience with both front-end and back-end technologies. • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and mentor engineering teams. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Product Focus: Experience working closely with product teams to align engineering efforts with business goals. Ability to understand the broader vision and deliver high-quality solutions. • Problem-Solving Mindset: A solution-oriented approach to complex challenges, with the ability to make strategic decisions in a rapidly changing environment. • Agile Experience: Strong experience in Agile methodologies and practices, with the ability to implement and adapt processes that work best for the team.
Nice to have:
• Desirable Skills: - Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Familiarity with microservices architectures and distributed systems. - Experience in managing cross-functional projects and collaborating with senior leadership. - Background in AI or machine learning technologies. - Startup experience where adaptability and hands-on leadership are essential.

• Leadership & Strategy: Actively promote a high standard of engineering excellence within teams, being accountable for technical outcomes, team performance, and individual growth. • Product Development: Oversee technical aspects of product development from ideation to launch, ensuring scalability, performance, and security of solutions. • Engineering Culture: Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture that champions continuous improvement, technical innovation, and best practices. • Team Development: Grow and mentor a high-performing engineering team through guidance, regular feedback, and career development. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO and Head of Product to translate business needs into technical solutions and ensure effective communication between product and engineering teams. • Process Optimisation: Continuously improve engineering processes, workflows, and tools, advocating for Agile development practices and methodologies that enhance team productivity.
