Must:
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in data engineering. You should have strong SQL skills and be familiar with database management systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is essential. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly GCP, is preferred. Experience with API development, CI/CD, and workflow management tools is also required. Lastly, strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
As the Data Lead, I will build and lead our organization’s data engineering capability, ensuring a scalable, cost-effective platform that supports our ambition to be data-led. Initially, I will focus on transforming the existing data warehouse into a GCP-based analytics platform, integrating system and client APIs, and preparing for AI/ML adoption. My key responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes, collaborating with data scientists and analysts to optimize data usage, monitoring and troubleshooting data infrastructure for performance and cost, ensuring data security, compliance, and proper documentation, and staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
Description
This position reports to the Head of Data and Analytics. It is a hybrid role, allowing for remote work with occasional UK site visits (2-3 days per week). I will be responsible for delivering a strategic data roadmap and ensuring smooth IT integration. We welcome applications from all candidates.
