Requirements
Must:
- Proven track record in enterprise data modelling, ideally in a large-scale data transformation context.
- Hands-on experience with ER/Studio for professional modelling tasks.
- Solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, GCS, and Pub/Sub or Kafka.
- Strong coding background in Advanced SQL, SSIS, Python, and Unix Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks and cross-functional team collaboration.
- Comfortable navigating governance processes and aligning models to enterprise data frameworks.
- Nice to have: Experience integrating models into metadata/catalogue tools like Collibra and exposure to real-time data ingestion, stream processing, or modern ELT pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Own the data modelling strategy across the GCP migration workstream.
- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with enterprise standards.
- Ensure data models meet business and performance requirements, including access and governance needs.
- Define and maintain mappings between logical and physical models.
- Guide models through internal data governance and collateral approvals.
- Register finalised GCP Data Products in Collibra.
- Apply advanced enterprise data modelling techniques, such as denormalised views, star schemas, etc.

I am offering an exciting contract opportunity as a GCP Data Modeller, on an INSIDE IR35 basis, with a hybrid working model based in London or Edinburgh. We are a global leader currently undergoing a digital transformation, and we are seeking an experienced Data Modeller to join our high-impact programme focused on reimagining and migrating legacy on-premise applications and data models into Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as modern data products. This is a key role in shaping the data architecture of tomorrow, applying enterprise modelling standards to next-gen cloud-native data assets.
