Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates who possess a strong understanding of infrastructure layers or stack and have broad knowledge across multiple platforms such as server, operating system, virtualization, database, middleware, or network. Ideal candidates will have experience contributing to roadmaps and strategies, working closely with third parties to assure their output and manage their performance. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management, are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate:
- Good knowledge of Cisco Datacentre Network Architecture, TCP/IP protocol suite, and network technologies, including Software Defined Networking (SDN) such as ACI and VXLAN, traditional networking, BGP, OSPF, Cisco IOS/NX-OS, and design concepts.
- Knowledge of, or an interest in, APIs and automation tools, methodologies, and practices such as Ansible.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- A solid background working in an Agile or DevOps environment with continuous delivery and continuous integration.
Responsibilities
As a Data Centre Network Engineer, my role will involve developing and implementing core infrastructure technologies, products, and services to meet customer and non-functional requirements. I will ensure that infrastructure technology is engineered to comply with security, availability, resilience, performance, and capacity standards, contributing to a first-class customer experience.
In this position, I will also:
- Ensure that the necessary work in the platform backlog includes detailed acceptance criteria, making operations support or warranty periods clear and accountable post-system migration.
- Contribute to complex and high-risk technical infrastructures.
- Produce and manage infrastructure roadmaps, outlining technology lifecycles from new products and versions to end of support and retirement.
- Provide operational support to other infrastructure teams during major incidents or complex technical issues.
- Build and leverage relationships across the bank to ensure commercially focused decisions that create long-term value for the organization.
