Requirements
Must:
- I require advanced Scala programming skills with at least 8 years of experience.
- You should have a strong understanding of Scala, including Akka for building concurrent, distributed, and resilient applications, Play Framework for web applications, and Cats/Scalaz for functional programming abstractions.
- An advanced knowledge of Domain Driven Design and event architecture is essential.
- Experience in building and maintaining dev-ops pipelines for delivering applications, ideally using GitLab, is necessary.
- You should be familiar with shift left testing principles and frameworks using technologies such as Junit, Cucumber, Gherkin, Contract Test (PACT), and TestContainers or other similar technologies.
- Knowledge of using eventing and messaging infrastructure such as Kafka and MQ is required.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, is necessary.
- A strong desire to learn, improve, and innovate, with high development standards is expected.
Responsibilities
- You will work alongside the Head of Client Digital Technology in a highly technical engineering role.
- Your responsibility will be to supply and guide program initiatives in engineering excellence and learning and development.
- You will build, deliver, and maintain multiple components of the platform.
- In your role, you will serve as an advisor to develop highly resilient and future-proof solutions.
- You will be tasked with researching and suggesting new projects for the Equities platform.
- You will resolve complex problems through in-depth evaluation of sophisticated architectures, business processes, and industry standards.
Description
We are delighted to partner with a global financial services organization that is looking to hire an experienced senior software engineer to join our innovative team. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting greenfield projects within financial services. Additionally, you will be joining a diverse, cross-functional team who all share a passion and obsession for technology. This position offers a hybrid work environment in London, requiring you to be in the office just 2 days a week. The role comes with a competitive salary of up to £120,000 and a 20% bonus structure. Please note that we do not offer sponsorship for this position.
