Requirements
Must:
We are looking for someone who is highly versed in Splunk and has experience with the following technologies:
- Python
- Version Control
- Jenkins
- Kubernetes/Kafka
- Ideally Dynatrace
- Ideally OpenTelemetry (OTel) for data presentation, though this is not essential.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will lead the migration to Dynatrace and will be responsible for:
- Building Splunk pipelines.
- Designing and implementing monitoring pipelines using Splunk, Dynatrace, and OpenTelemetry (OTel).
- Automating the deployment of monitoring tools using Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Managing configuration and version control with Bitbucket and Artifactory.
- Ensuring seamless integration of monitoring solutions into CI/CD pipelines.
- Developing and maintaining alerting, logging, and tracing solutions to support observability best practices.
- Optimizing monitoring configurations for performance, cost, and scalability.
- Troubleshooting monitoring issues and providing root cause analysis for system incidents.
- Documenting monitoring architectures, automation scripts, and best practices.
Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Splunk Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a contract basis until the end of 2025, with the possibility of extension. This position requires the ability to reach one of our three offices located in Chester, Bromley, or Camberley, and candidates must be available onsite for three days a week. This role is classified as Inside IR35, with a rate of £635 per day. If you are a Splunk SME ready to take on a high-profile contract role, we encourage you to apply!
