Requirements
Must:
- I require the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for communicating at all levels of seniority with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- I need someone who can communicate complex issues effectively, providing the right level of detail and ensuring accuracy in all published communications.
- A basic understanding of routers, networks, and VoIP telephones is necessary.
- A strong understanding of internal software and a thorough understanding of IT infrastructure is essential.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID is required.
- Familiarity with Azure infrastructure and services is an advantage.
- A customer-focused attitude is a must.
- I prefer candidates with at least 1 year's experience in an IT/Technology support role, though this is not essential.
- MS-900 and AZ-900 certification is preferred.
- A basic understanding of computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network fundamentals is required.
- A full UK driving license is essential, with a willingness to travel occasionally at short notice within the UK (expenses paid).
Responsibilities
- I expect you to provide first-line technical assistance and support to internal customers for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Responding to customers promptly and establishing the best way to provide support efficiently is crucial. This may be via phone, email, in person, or through our ITSM platform, Zoho Desk.
- You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and upkeep of the internal Helpdesk system, continuously looking for ways to improve the customer service offering while ensuring all information is kept up to date and reviewed regularly.
- Contributing to the documentation of IT processes, procedures, and knowledge base articles is part of your role.
- You will manage the internal Helpdesk on a daily basis, ensuring that knowledge base articles are relevant and customer inquiries are responded to timely and appropriately.
- Supporting remote users and assisting with remote connectivity issues will be part of your responsibilities.
- You will assist in the setup and maintenance of network equipment across the business, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Assisting in the setup and maintenance of devices across the business, including computer systems, laptops, and mobile devices, is expected from you.
- You will install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications and operating systems.
- Assisting in the migration of current infrastructure to cloud-based equivalents will be required as needed.
- Collaborating with our IT partner to resolve possible system issues and support internal users is essential.
- Performing routine system upgrades and ensuring consistent system security and performance at a high standard will be expected.
- Contributing to hardware and software inventory and asset management while keeping an accurate record of equipment and licenses is part of your responsibility.
- You will participate in disaster recovery and backup procedures as needed.
- Completing any additional ad-hoc IT and support-related tasks as required by the business will also be part of your role.
