As a candidate for the Data Architect position, I am looking for someone who has proven experience in the field. You should have expertise in cloud-based data architectures, specifically with platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Additionally, hands-on experience with modern data warehousing and transformation tools like Snowflake is essential. A strong knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and real-time analytics is crucial, along with proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or similar programming languages. Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Spark or Hadoop, and BI tools, including Power BI or Tableau, would be highly beneficial. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders effectively are also important traits for success in this role.
Responsibilities
In my role as a Data Architect, I will design and implement modern data architectures utilizing both cloud and on-premise solutions. I will lead the implementation of cloud-based data warehousing and analytics solutions, as well as develop and maintain data models, databases, and ETL/ELT pipelines. Additionally, I will utilize industry-leading data processing tools to optimize performance and establish data governance frameworks to ensure quality, integrity, and compliance. Collaboration with cybersecurity teams will be necessary to enforce data security best practices, and I will partner with various stakeholders to align data strategies with business objectives. Furthermore, I will provide training and mentorship to cross-functional teams on data architecture and tools.
Description
This position is located in Birmingham, requiring 2 days on-site per week. The salary for this role ranges from £55,000 to £66,000.
