Must:
I am looking for an IT Manager / Developer with PICK UniVerse skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with PICK / UniVerse or its derivatives such as VMARK, Reality, etc. Additional knowledge in SQL (ODBC), Java, and Python is beneficial. You should be ready to work hands-on and be comfortable collaborating with a small team to support IT functions for a user base of approximately 300 across the UK and US.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will rely on you to lead the team in enhancing our IT functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the functionality of third-party software, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
- Maintaining written procedures for software management tasks.
- Innovatively recommending upgrades and alternatives to current software packages to meet our business needs.
- Responding to user inquiries regarding software operation and enhancement requests.
- Maintaining and configuring all aspects of IT security, working with third parties as needed.
- Recommending improvements to existing security measures to protect our information systems.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining IT infrastructure, with cooperation from external parties when necessary.
- Improving electronic communication services to better serve our company’s requirements.
- Monitoring and ensuring the proper operation of our websites, recommending and implementing improvements to maximize visitor engagement.
- Collaborating with the Marketing department on website matters and enhancing search engine prominence.
Description
This position will involve close collaboration with the Board, specifically with the Director, ensuring you possess extensive knowledge and expertise of our infrastructure and applications. The role is office-based, operating Monday to Friday, and offers a salary in the region of £60k. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the evolving IT landscape of our manufacturing and distribution company located near Chelmsford.
