Must:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineering Manager with the following qualifications:
- A valid driving license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the capability to multi-task while working under pressure.
- Flexibility to work outside of core hours occasionally.
- Willingness to travel to other Exsel Group sites and potentially overseas.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK without restrictions and meet UK government security vetting criteria.
Responsibilities
As the Software Engineering Manager, you will have several key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
- Ensure the well-being and safety of team members, including managing holidays and return-to-work processes.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify growth opportunities for team members.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improve processes.
- Provide technical guidance and energy in project design and architecture, maintaining high coding standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, assess risks, estimate budgets, and create compelling proposals.
- Oversee and maintain efficient and secure software development systems.
- Work closely with Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, and Programme Management teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Collaborate with Project Managers for effective project planning, prioritization, and execution.
- Manage resources to effectively meet project goals and deadlines.
