Requirements
Must:
- A degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in leading software development teams and delivering digital platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with C#, JavaScript (React/Node), Azure DevOps, SQL, and Azure PaaS.
- Experience with eCommerce platforms, CMS (preferably Umbraco), APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of mobile development technologies is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to translate customer or business needs into scalable solutions.
- Track record of delivering projects to deadlines with strong planning and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation of our cloud-first application platforms, overseeing the design, development, and continuous improvement of our bespoke software services.
- Mentor and grow the internal software development team while guiding offshore contributors.
- Define technical architecture, development frameworks, and solution standards for secure, reliable, and scalable systems across web, mobile, and API services.
- Manage the application services roadmap in partnership with the Technology Director.
- Lead the migration of legacy systems to modern Azure-based cloud services, championing a DevOps culture that supports CI/CD, test automation, and infrastructure as code.
- Deliver technical leadership in areas such as microservices, containerization, and secure coding while guiding architectural decisions across various platforms and applications.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage development tasks, resources, and sprint cycles, while fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and continuous improvement among team members.
- Embed secure development practices into all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and collaborate with the Information Security Manager to ensure compliance with security policies.

My role will be pivotal in ensuring that the applications we build not only deliver exceptional customer experiences but are also robust enough to scale with our ambitious growth plans. I'm committed to maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders and external partners, ensuring we support internal development needs while also coordinating third-party development requirements. My aim is to contribute to our vision of being the UK's go-to travel money provider, adding value to every customer’s journey. Together with my team, we will strive to make foreign exchange better, simpler, and more convenient, acting as trusted inspirational experts in our field.
