Must:
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- Educated to postgraduate level or equivalent experience
- Experience of leading, managing, and motivating teams to deliver results
- Proven experience in leading AI projects within an engineering and manufacturing environment
- Extensive experience in project management, team leadership, and strategic planning
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, and data analytics
- Evidence of effective stakeholder management in a complex multi-stakeholder environment
- A track record of driving delivery, continuous improvement, and sustained performance focusing on key business issues and outcomes
- Experience in problem-solving to resolve, minimize, or mitigate risks while maximizing opportunities
- Excellent leadership skills with a focus on driving high performance and development
- The ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI (e.g., Python, R)
- Capability to maintain a high degree of effectiveness in a multitask role, managing priorities, and delivering to challenging timelines
- Robust judgment and the ability to seek and challenge information to reach and make decisions
- Strong influencing and engagement skills with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills at the executive level
- Proven clear and concise communication skills
- Demonstrable negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to convince through personal credibility
- Business and financial acumen to provide strategic and tactical insight depending on the needs of the business
- Ability to drive transformation, change, and continuous improvement through collaboration and leading by example, with a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion
Responsibilities
As our Head of AI Acceleration and Delivery, you will be responsible for:
- Developing a comprehensive AI strategy that aligns with our organization's goals and objectives
- Engaging stakeholders by communicating the benefits and limitations of AI to both technical and non-technical audiences, including key external stakeholders such as the MoD and Government
- Creating a detailed implementation roadmap for AI adoption, outlining necessary infrastructure, tools, timelines, and personnel
- Collaborating with business leaders to identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases
- Overseeing AI experiments and projects to ensure they meet desired outcomes and contribute to best practices
- Providing resources and training to enable developers within the organization
- Ensuring the ethical adoption of AI through risk assessments and contributing to our guidance on AI ethics
- Leading a multidisciplinary team of AI specialists, data scientists, engineers, and manufacturing experts while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of AI systems and processes, making data-driven adjustments as necessary
- Conducting ongoing research to drive innovative AI solutions that maintain our competitive edge
- Maintaining a robust AI ethics framework built on best practice standards and ensuring compliance, including engaging with colleagues from Security and Legal
