Requirements
Must:
- I expect you to have a basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat landscapes.
- Experience working with Microsoft Security tools such as Sentinel, Defender XDR, and Entra ID is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- I prefer candidates with at least 1 year of experience in a SOC or IT Support role.
- Related certifications, such as CompTIA Security, CySA, or SC-200, are also preferred.
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will monitor security alerts and events from Microsoft Sentinel and other relevant security tools.
- You will perform initial triage and analysis of security incidents to determine their severity and impact.
- Escalating verified incidents to the incident response teams is part of your duties.
- I expect you to ensure timely triage and remediation of incidents you handle.
- You will follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incident handling and escalation.
- Assisting in improving standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be part of your responsibilities.
- You will help identify tuning opportunities and work on reducing false positives.
- I need you to communicate with customer stakeholders during incident investigations.
- Maintaining awareness of current threats and vulnerabilities relevant to our customers is crucial.

We are a Microsoft Solution Partner offering an exciting opportunity to join our growing Managed Service team as a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst. You will report to the Technical Support Manager, and your contributions will help safeguard our clients' digital environments. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of our managed security services within a modern, agile, and customer-focused SOC offering. In return for your dedication, you can expect a salary between £35,000 and £40,000 per annum, depending on your experience, along with a 5% company pension contribution. We offer hybrid working, where you can anticipate spending around 60% of your time working from home and 40% in our Basingstoke office.
