Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following essential skills and experience:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in solution architecture, with at least 5 years focusing on GIS platforms.
- Strong expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
- In-depth knowledge of geospatial technologies such as ESRI, QGIS, FME, and GeoServer.
- Experience with legacy GIS systems like Intergraph and Smallworld, along with data migration projects.
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications for geospatial data quality and analytics.
- Proven ability to lead Agile delivery across cross-functional teams.
Desirable skills and experience include:
- Previous experience in managing or supporting data centre operations.
- Proficiency in DCIM tools, particularly Nlyte.
- A strong track record of delivering compliance, audit, and governance requirements within IT estates.
Responsibilities
As a Data Centre Analyst, I will ensure the safe and reliable operation of our data centre estate, protecting housed services. My key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular IT asset audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Maintaining and managing capacity within the Nlyte DCIM tool or equivalent.
- Overseeing changes and risks via the Change Control Process.
- Raising and managing change and incident tickets as required.
- Providing incident management support in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Representing the data centre estate in CABs, workshops, and multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Validating technical designs for safe housing and supportability.
- Delivering data centre inductions and maintaining access records to meet safety requirements.
- Preparing for and completing all required audits.
Description
This position is based in Wokingham and is offered as a 6-month contract with a day rate of £425 (Inside IR35). The role is hybrid, requiring attendance in the office for 3 days each week. The Data Centre Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our data centre estate, and contributes to safeguarding our business-critical services and infrastructure. I will work closely with cross-functional teams and represent the estate in workshops, audits, and governance forums.
