Must:
We are looking for a Senior Java Spring Boot Developer with the following qualifications:
- Proficient in Java, Spring Boot MVC, jQuery, and Spring Framework.
- Strong experience with JSON and Thymeleaf.
- Proficient in RESTful API development using Postman and SWAGGER.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Ingress, cookie/session management, and secure web application practices.
- Knowledge of GDS themes, design principles, and accessibility standards.
- Proficient in unit testing with JUnit and handling POJOs and mock data.
- Understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience in public sector or GDS compliant environments is desirable.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, AKS, Kubernetes) is desirable.
- Exposure to frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) is a plus.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Java Developer, I will support our organization in delivering new online forms as digital services. My focus will be on building dynamic, user-friendly web forms that align with GDS standards, ensuring accessibility, security, and performance. I will work closely with colleagues across the directorate, collaborating with the Software Development team, other full-stack developers, delivery managers, user researchers, and test engineers. This role requires a hybrid working arrangement, where I will need to be onsite in Liverpool two days a week.
Description
This position is a 6-month contract inside IR35, offering competitive market rates of £510-£540 per day. We are primarily looking for candidates with experience in UK government digital services and familiarity with GDS style and standards.
