Must:
We are looking for a Technical Engineer (2nd or 3rd Line) who possesses strong troubleshooting experience across Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, and Microsoft 365. A good understanding of networking fundamentals is essential, along with solid knowledge of backup, continuity, and disaster recovery solutions. You should have great communication skills and a proactive, client-focused attitude. A full UK driving license is also required.
It’s advantageous if you have about 3 years of experience in IT support, are familiar with VoIP systems, and MSP tools such as ConnectWise or NinjaRMM. Exposure to firewalls like Sophos, Cisco, or Ubiquiti, along with experience in Datto, Veeam, ShadowProtect, and ESET would be a plus. Industry certifications and a willingness to continue learning are welcomed.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide 2nd and 3rd line support for servers, networks, cloud platforms, and VoIP systems. Your duties will also include designing, quoting, and delivering Windows Server infrastructure and backup solutions. You'll support clients remotely, via phone, and on-site throughout Cumbria and beyond while ensuring systems are secure and up to date with strong cyber security practices. Collaboration with other engineers is essential, as well as helping to support junior team members.

We offer flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week, while the remainder of the week you’ll be present at our stunning offices overlooking Skiddaw. Our company specializes in managed services contracts, servers and network installations, wired & wireless networks, VOIP, and website design and hosting. Our office is near Keswick in the Lake District, a hub for outdoor activities with remarkable scenery.
