We are seeking candidates with ideally 7 years of Linux system administration experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or team lead role. You should have strong expertise with RHEL-based systems, encompassing installation, ongoing management, monitoring, performance tuning, and system security hardening. A proven track record of managing geographically distributed teams, including senior engineers and tier-1/2 support staff, is essential. Experience in managing complex IT projects, such as system migrations and infrastructure upgrades, is also required. You should possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience implementing security measures in a regulated environment. Proficiency in managing bare-metal servers, virtualization platforms like VMware, containerized systems, and familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and DevOps practices is preferred. Familiarity with incident/problem management and change control workflows is a plus, as is previous experience with low latency systems or in the financial sector. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interface effectively with operations desks, application developers, compliance teams, and executive leadership.

You will ensure the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical Linux-based systems, overseeing the entire Linux estate including development, QA, and multiple production trading systems for both internal and third-party clients. Your role will involve collaborating with development, networks, ops, and product teams on strategic IT initiatives. You will assist in planning, management, and resource allocation for inter-departmental projects alongside the PM team. Furthermore, you will oversee incident management, root cause analysis, and ensure rapid resolution of system outages or performance degradation. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with procedures such as change management, patch management, and security audit processes, as well as supporting regular security audits and penetration tests.

If our values resonate with your own, this could be the ideal environment for you to advance your career. We offer competitive salaries, 25 days of annual leave (not including bank holidays), options for private medical insurance, hybrid and flexible working hours, a company pension plan, and various group policies including life assurance and income protection. Other benefits include a discretionary bonus, an electric car scheme, an enhanced maternity and paternity policy, a workplace nursery scheme, and additional holiday entitlement based on length of service.
