We are looking for candidates who have broad Systems Engineering experience covering the full life cycle. You should possess a strong understanding of state-of-the-art Systems Engineering methods and their application in the domain, including experience with lifecycle issues on major projects. It's essential to have the ability to understand and implement Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies into practicing programs. Candidates should be capable of working autonomously and proactively, managing multiple issues, tasks, and priorities concurrently. Stakeholder management experience and systems architecture design expertise are also required. Additionally, experience in supporting the development of colleagues is important.
Responsibilities
As the Systems Engineering Lead, you will play a key role in promoting and driving best practices across the Data Link Systems group. You will shape our approach to programs by considering customer needs and expectations, as well as the capabilities of technology and third-party suppliers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing education, training, and consultancy-style system design support tailored to specific program needs, ensuring maximum benefit from best practice usage. You will also be involved in developing team members as they build their Systems Engineering knowledge, assessing core techniques, and delivering process improvements and behavioral changes. Furthermore, you'll influence the Systems Engineering approach for new business and support established programs in tailoring processes, shaping the direction during transitions between phases. Collaboration with key partners in MBDA UK and engaging with stakeholders across all MBDA National sites to align processes and approaches will be essential for achieving our goals efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Data Link Systems team within the Seekers and Data Link Systems directorate as Systems Engineering Lead, with a salary of circa £65,000 depending on experience. We promote dynamic (hybrid) working arrangements, with a balance of on-site and off-site work, and we are open to considering part-time options. Security clearance requirements apply, and successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks after the offer stage.
