Requirements
Must:
- 6 years of experience in Windows Server administration in large-scale environments.
- Proven hands-on experience with OS upgrades from Windows 2012 to Windows 2022.
- Advanced VMware skills, including infrastructure builds and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Hyper-V and cluster functionalities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Active UK SC Clearance (mandatory).
- Willingness to work out of hours if required.
- Must attend the Gloucester office for pre-onboarding vetting validation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the migration from Windows 2012/2012 R2 to Windows 2022 Servers.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, IIS, and WSUS in a production environment of 200 servers.
- Install, configure, and manage VMware infrastructure (vCenter, ESXi, HA, DRS, networking, datastores, P2V, VMotion).
- Maintain high availability, backup & restore, and DR testing.
- Work within ITIL processes in a 24/7 enterprise environment.
Description
We are seeking an experienced Windows Server Migration & Upgrade Engineer to support a critical infrastructure project, migrating and upgrading Windows 2012/2012 R2 Servers to Windows 2022 within a secure power station environment. This is a contract position for 3 months initially, starting on 1st September 2025, with a rate of £315 to £340 per day (Inside IR35). The role is primarily remote, but occasional office presence in Gloucester will be required. If you have the relevant skills and experience, we encourage you to apply promptly to be considered.
