Requirements
Must:
- Strong knowledge and experience in Server Configuration, specifically with Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell).
- Proficient in Networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, Firewall management, and security protocols.
- Experience with Cloud Technologies, particularly Microsoft 365 Administration.
- Familiarity with Virtualization Technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Database management experience with SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of Security practices including patch management, endpoint security, backup, and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals as well as common software applications.
- Manage user accounts, including assistance with creation, password resets, and access permissions in Active Directory and other systems.
- Accurately record, track, and update all support tickets in the IT service management system, adhering to ITIL best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and VPN problems.
- Assist in the inventory and tracking of hardware and software assets.
- Provide both onsite and remote support to users, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Deliver user training and create user-friendly documentation to help end-users resolve common problems independently.
Description
We are looking to expand our IT team due to continued growth and investment. The main purpose of this role is to work on a range of continuous improvement projects across our site, providing IT advice and support. The job holder will be responsible for IT support to personnel using remote access and face-to-face methods, along with setting up and maintaining IT access for all users.
Key details about the position include:
- Work hours: 37 hours per week
- Location: Sheffield, UK
- Job type: Permanent, Full-time (37 Hours)
- Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
