Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Lead Software Engineer.
- Active NPPV3 and Active Security Clearance (SC).
- Proven experience in the migration of legacy Java applications to modern versions (from EE/EJB to Spring).
- Experience migrating from Oracle to PostgreSQL and from Data Centre to Cloud (AWS).
- Understanding of Java Standard Edition 8 and Java Enterprise Edition 5, 6, and 11.
- Demonstrable experience with PL/SQL development.
- Some skills in GIS (JavaScript/OpenLayers, TileCache, and MapServer).
- Experience with platforms/operating systems such as Oracle Solis, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, and Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2016, 2019.
Responsibilities
- I will lead the software engineering team in delivering a business critical program for our end client.
- I will be responsible for overseeing the successful migration of legacy systems, ensuring minimal disruption during the transition.
- I will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement modern standards and practices in software development.
- I will leverage my expertise in Java and other required technologies to guide the technical direction of the project.
Description
This contract role offers up to £550 per day (Inside IR35) and is based in London with remote flexibility.
