Requirements
Must:
We are seeking a candidate with 1 to 2 years of experience in IT and a genuine interest in technology. You should possess a good knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, MS Office Suite, Routers, and Networking. Experience with VMware, SAN/NAS, Firewalls, and Linux is desirable, but not mandatory. A working knowledge of ITIL would also be advantageous. You must be over 18 years of age to apply.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will deliver first-line support via our Service Desk, handling incidents and service requests from various channels, including telephone and our ticketing system. Your main duties will include providing excellent customer care, installing and configuring computer software operating systems and applications, monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks, and troubleshooting system and network problems. You will also support the rollout of new applications, set up new user accounts and profiles, and manage password issues.

Chisholm Bookmakers, a family-run business established in the 1950s with 34 betting shops throughout the North East of England and Cumbria, is looking for a full-time IT Support Technician to join our team at our head office in Ashington, Northumberland. Through our association with the Bookmakers Technology Consortium, we provide IT services to over 500 shops in the UK and Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to progress their career in IT. You will configure and test new hardware and software for production use, carry out routine maintenance, and ensure effective housekeeping on current IT systems and infrastructures. Please note that our IT team works on a shift system, which includes weekends and bank holidays, and occasional evening shifts may be required. We value team players who can multitask, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
