Requirements
Must:
- You will have held your Class 1 and 2 licence for a minimum of 1 year.
- A maximum of 6 points for minor offences is acceptable.
- Experience is essential.
- You should be looking for flexibility and variation in your work.
- We appreciate a good team ethic and your eagerness to learn new skills.
- A good knowledge and experience of driving all types of trucks is preferred.
- An appreciation for good customer service is necessary.
- A Hiab ticket and experience is an advantage, but training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Your daily duties will include a mixture of Class 1 and 2 driving, Hiab work, trunking, Ro-Ro, plant machinery, ADR work, and handling caged deliveries and collections.
- You will need to complete all relevant paperwork for deliveries and collections.
- Daily vehicle checks and defect reports must be completed as part of your responsibilities.
- You will liaise with your line manager to communicate any issues related to your allocated work.
- Adhering to all relevant road traffic and working time regulations is critical.
- You will maintain accurate records of your driving hours, working time, and rest periods using the appropriate method (digital tachograph).

Backline Avonmouth is currently recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers, primarily on a full-time basis, but we can also accommodate part-time schedules to suit your needs. Typically, your shifts will occur Monday to Friday, starting between 04:00 and 08:00, though this may vary based on our business needs.
