Requirements
Must:
- I am currently looking for a Data Science Manager, Lead Data Scientist, or an individual in a similar role.
- I need someone with proven experience in leading or mentoring data scientists within a commercial environment.
- Experience with GenAI/MLOps and similar projects is essential.
- I require a solid background in delivering AI/ML projects end-to-end that have made a real business impact.
- Hands-on Python skills are necessary, including familiarity with libraries like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, and PySpark.
- A strong understanding of model deployment and MLOps best practices is a must.
- I need someone who can work with real-world, unbalanced, and messy datasets.
- The ability to translate technical work into insights for non-technical stakeholders is essential.
- Experience in working across cross-functional teams (engineers, architects, analysts) is preferred.
- Sector experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance is beneficial but not compulsory.
Responsibilities
- I am looking for someone to lead a small but strong team across various live and upcoming projects in traditional AI, GenAI, and machine learning.
- You will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of four data scientists, addressing complex data challenges with real-world impact.
- Your day-to-day activities will include balancing technical delivery, people leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
- I need you to articulate the scientific complexity of projects and communicate their value clearly to non-technical stakeholders, aiding in driving commercial outcomes from data insights.
- This role will report to an experienced leader who is supportive and allows for independent leadership while providing guidance as needed.
- Additionally, I emphasize upskilling and internal learning, which includes regular hackathons, dedicated learning time (two hours every week), and a culture focused on team investment.
