Requirements
Must:
- An HNC or NVQ Level 4 qualification in statistical analysis or information management, or relevant experience.
- Skills in assessing data integrity, matching, analysis, and strong skills in stakeholder engagement.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding and practical use of SQL and Power BI is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Children’s Services and the Public Sector is beneficial but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Lead the capture and retrieval of essential data for local and statutory requirements, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Scope, design, and create reports using software such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI to meet statutory obligations and local performance oversight needs.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations, deliver insights, and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of internal council departments and external partners, including schools, alternative education provisions, and health service providers.
Description
We are seeking a data enthusiast ready to make a meaningful impact in Children's Services. Our Performance and Information team is looking for an Insight Analyst responsible for collating, reporting, and analyzing management information within Education and Skills. This role will lead the implementation of new mandatory national and local school attendance data requirements and the development of the necessary technical infrastructure for the secure, efficient, and timely handling of large volumes of attendance data from all schools. As part of our team, you will deliver attendance tracking reports and multi-cohort analytics that inform tactical operations, strategic decision-making, and performance scrutiny.
