Requirements

Must:
We are searching for candidates with a technical background and experience in technologies including but not limited to firewalls, IDS/IPS, Active Directory, endpoint protection, Windows Server, Linux, Networking, Cloud, and Vulnerability Management. You should have an analytical background and be comfortable analyzing and interpreting large, complex data sets, articulating the story behind observations and providing conclusions and recommendations. Familiarity with tools to dissect common threats and produce usable Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), such as malicious document analysis, is essential. A detailed knowledge of the current threat landscape and the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) commonly employed in cyber attacks is also required. Desirable qualifications include prior experience in an information and/or cyber security environment (either government or commercial sectors), experience working in Cyber Operations utilizing SIEM platforms, familiarity with development or scripting languages, and relevant security certifications such as CISSP, SSCP, CEH, GCIH, or GCIA.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will triage, analyze, and investigate alerts, log data, and network traffic using monitoring platforms and Internet resources to identify cyber-attacks and security incidents. You will serve as a mentor and escalation point within the team for technical queries, ensuring timely and accurate communication of incidents to IT, network, or security teams across BAE Systems. You will escalate suspected major security incidents or investigations where additional support is required and define monitoring use cases while developing prototype rules with minimal supervision in response to intelligence or gaps in defenses. Further, you will contribute to the development of services through people, processes, and technology as appropriate, build a comprehensive knowledge of BAE Systems' IT systems to support monitoring activities, and tailor remediation recommendations to various systems. You will also help define requirements for future security capabilities alongside the Lead Analyst.

Description

We offer competitive benefits, including a competitive pension scheme, employee share plans, and an extensive range of flexible, discounted health, wellbeing, and lifestyle benefits such as a green car scheme, private health plans, and shopping discounts. You may also be eligible for an annual incentive. Our Cyber Operations team is dedicated to protecting BAE Systems from cyber attacks by various threat actors.
