Must:
We are looking for an experienced MI Analyst with a proven background in an MI function, ideally within the financial services sector. The essential skills and experience we expect include:
- Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing stored procedures.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using DAX for Power BI development.
- Experience in creating insightful reports and visualizations using Power BI, SSRS, Cognos, or similar tools.
- A strong analytical mindset with a proven ability to deliver MI from a defined analytical brief.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Desirable attributes include:
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis clearly and engagingly.
- A curious and analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Organized, adaptable, and able to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Experience mentoring or supporting more junior team members.
- An enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and collaborating across teams.
Responsibilities
As the MI Analyst, I will work collaboratively with stakeholders and product teams to deliver strategic and tactical MI solutions. My main responsibilities will include:
- Using advanced visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to monitor business performance, portfolio health, and strategic initiatives.
- Developing, enhancing, and automating regular MI reporting using SQL, DAX, and Excel.
- Analyzing both structured and unstructured data from Data Warehouses and Data Lakes to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Contributing to the production of regulatory and compliance reports, providing insightful commentary for senior decision-makers.
- Supporting the business with technical expertise and analytical guidance.
- Mentoring and supporting junior analysts where required, sharing best practices and knowledge.
- Working within an Agile Kanban environment, contributing to continuous improvement through safe code reviews, testing, and deployment.

This role offers a salary range of £35,000 to £40,000, and is based in Manchester with a hybrid working model.
