Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: - A degree in a cyber security-related field. - Professional certification (e.g., CISSP, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent). - Strong skills in risk/vulnerability assessments, compliance checks, and audits. - Experience in penetration testing and remediation. - Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response. - Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud security tools (e.g., M365, IAM, threat protection). - Ability to assess and respond to evolving security threats. - Experience in migrating from on-premises to cloud solutions. - Strong analytical skills for complex technical issues. - Proven experience in designing cyber security systems and governance. - Familiarity with tools and frameworks (e.g., NCSC, NIST, MITRE, GDPR, PCI DSS). - Deep understanding of security controls (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, SOC, DLP). - Proficiency in leading and coordinating incident response. - Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. - Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. - Skilled in tailoring technical information for varied audiences. - Attention to detail with a strong customer service focus. - Strong documentation and governance writing abilities. - Collaborative and independent work style. - Ability to build strong relationships with end users. - Knowledge of PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS technologies. - Understanding of ITIL, GDPR, and security principles.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for: - Managing and improving cyber-security systems across both cloud and on-premises, addressing risks and performance. - Supporting the development of the cyber-security roadmap in alignment with strategic goals. - Defining and maintaining security policies, procedures, and documentation. - Providing senior-level IT support and incident responses. - Leading complex projects and delivering results under pressure. - Implementing solutions based on business needs and industry standards. - Working independently to make strategic technical decisions. - Mentoring junior staff and sharing knowledge to build team resilience. - Driving automation and process improvements. - Managing risks and ensuring that security enables business operations. - Ensuring robust backup and recovery for security systems. - Scaling cyber-security architecture across the organization. - Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on compliance. - Engaging suppliers to deliver secure and compliant solutions. - Adopting emerging cloud technologies for scalable infrastructure. - Participating in 24/7 support for critical systems. - Overseeing contractors and third-party delivery.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract based at our office located at 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham, B19 3SD. We expect at least two days a week to be spent in the office, with a possibility of supporting the business outside regular hours on an on-call basis.
