Must:
We are looking for a candidate with experience in developing and managing requirements and product backlogs. A SCRUM Certified Product Owner qualification is desirable, along with knowledge of Agile working and delivery approaches. You should have experience working across an enterprise application product base environment and a good understanding of current enterprise application technologies and roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of resolving complex and conflicting business priorities, as well as management through influence without direct line management responsibility. An innovative approach to solution design and Product Lifecycle Management is essential.
Responsibilities
As the Product Owner, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the SA CC Lead and the Senior Product Owner in developing, implementing, and reviewing the Welsh Water specialist applications strategy by engaging with stakeholders to identify and document business problems, potential solutions, and requirements for the applications backlog.
- Using your communication and problem-solving skills to engage with stakeholders across various levels, defining business problems and translating them into a requirements backlog aligned with Welsh Water's technology, digital, and customer service strategies.
- Implementing stakeholder management strategies to keep all business stakeholders informed and engaged regarding the progress of products and features on the specialist applications backlog schedule.
- Assessing the priority of demand based on forecasted business benefits to deliver initiatives in the correct order for maximum value.
- Challenging business stakeholders to define Minimum Viable Products (MVP) to ensure high-value requirements are delivered while minimizing wasted effort.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert across the business, leading the definition of application principles and ensuring adherence.
- Coaching others on Agile principles to maximize business value delivery and challenging non-compliance with these principles.
- Tracking and reporting on benefits associated with your initiatives in collaboration with the Senior Product Owner and ensuring requirements align with business objectives and reject those that do not.
- Leading implementation Go/No Go decisions during deployment and managing all requests through ServiceNow and Azure DevOps for the specialist applications backlog.
- Contributing to Scrum ceremonies and owning Product Owner Scrum Artefacts while resolving issues that impede delivering on sprint commitments.
Description
This is a hybrid role based in Cardiff, where the successful candidate will be expected to work in our Cardiff office two days a week or as required by the business. We offer a market-competitive salary between ยฃ49,235.00 and ยฃ57,852.00, along with 33 days of annual leave (pro rata, including public holidays) and a variety of employee benefits. These benefits include variable pay schemes, the option to buy additional annual leave, enhanced employer pension contributions, and various wellbeing initiatives.
