Requirements
Must:
We are looking for someone who has a foundational experience and knowledge of the following:
- WordPress
- Using Advanced Custom Fields for block and theme development (training will be provided)
- JavaScript, PHP, HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with MS Office and Google Docs, particularly Excel and Google Sheets
- A good standard of English and maths
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify solutions to complex problems
- Good organization and time management skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- A passion for digital and a desire to continually develop knowledge in the ever-changing digital marketing environment
- Must have personal transport and reside within 40 minutes’ drive of our offices.
Responsibilities
As our Junior Web Developer, you will take on the following key responsibilities:
- Developing bespoke WordPress themes based on client designs, preferably using Advanced Custom Fields for either a template or block-based approach
- Implementing new functionality for WordPress through custom plugin development
- Applying and updating plugins and WordPress versions
- Collaborating with team members and directly communicating with clients, primarily via video calls, to thoroughly understand and address their requirements
- Setting up tracking using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, sometimes integrating these with clients' CMS or sales processing software
- Creating dashboards and exporting data using tools such as Looker Studio for client reports.

This role is perfect for someone with a keen interest in coding and the technical aspects of websites. You will have the opportunity to learn and hone your skills through hands-on experience, with full support from our current developers. Our office is located in a beautiful, dog-friendly, converted barn on a country estate near Godalming, Surrey. While this is a full-time position, we offer flexibility in working hours as needed. After your training period and successful probation, the role will be hybrid, allowing for homeworking three days a week (with office attendance required on Tuesdays and Thursdays).
