- Experience of cyber and network security tooling within a large organization. - The ability to work effectively as part of a matrix/project team while also being able to prioritize and manage your own workload. - Strong communication skills to present ideas and specialist areas to a wide and potentially non-technical audience. - Capability to plan and manage new projects or significant new activities, ensuring plans align with broader organizational strategy. - Experience working with senior-level stakeholders, advising, influencing, and gaining support for security initiatives.

Responsibilities

- As part of our team of analysts, you will manage the overall day-to-day technical and operational aspects of cyber and information security within the University. This involves working within a hybrid Security Operations Centre (SOC) model, leading the investigation and resolution of cybersecurity incidents, and coordinating with our third-party SOC provider for effective threat detection, incident response, and continuous monitoring. - You will conduct proactive threat hunting activities to detect advanced threats and anomalous behavior within the University's network, providing solutions to support incident response, vulnerability management, and strategic security decisions. - Collaborating with third-party providers, you will scope, coordinate, and review network security assessments, ensuring findings and recommendations are effectively prioritized, communicated, documented, and implemented to enhance the University’s security posture. - You will support the network vulnerability management process by identifying, assessing, and prioritizing security vulnerabilities, working with relevant teams and third parties to ensure timely remediation. - Design, implement, and support technical security controls to defend University network systems against security threats while addressing specific security challenges across the University. - Assess security infrastructure, network, and system design to identify security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities within networks, systems, applications, and new technology initiatives. You will conduct assessments of existing and new software deployments, continuously seeking ways to mature processes and improve services. - Present security solutions for approval through internal processes, such as the Technical Architecture Board (TAG) and Change Advisory Board (CAB).

Description


We offer a competitive salary ranging from £46,049 to £58,225 per annum for a full-time position, fixed term for 24 months.
