Requirements
Must:
As a Data Engineer, you will bring a strong motivation and attention to detail, with a passion for people-focused data engineering and analysis. You should have experience in a data engineering role, ideally with practical knowledge of or the ability to upskill in cloud services such as Azure, Databricks, and ESRI. Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with familiarity in developing pipelines that support Analysts using tools like RStudio, Power BI, and/or GIS. Experience or the ability to manage data services linked to the Data Lakehouse, including GitHub and Power BI, is also necessary. A solid understanding of data security practices to ensure compliance is important. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are a must.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will maintain and enhance our data pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of our federation-wide data service system—a data lakehouse. You will work collaboratively with various teams to develop data management solutions, identify new use cases, forecast data volumes, and ensure cost-effective service maintenance. Your efforts will enable us to leverage data for operational and strategic success while supporting a strong community of practice within the Wildlife Trusts. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing data pipelines and cloud services, providing data-driven solutions that support our business needs.
