Must:
We are looking for someone with strong experience as a BI Developer, Data Engineer, or a similar role. You must have hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, as this is essential for our projects. Proven expertise with Azure Data services, including Data Factory, OneLake, and Synapse, is necessary. A solid background in database technologies such as SQL and reporting tools like Power BI is required. Excellent communication skills are crucial for working across both technical and non-technical teams. Experience with migration projects, specifically moving from legacy BI to Fabric, is desirable. Additionally, knowledge of governance and security within Microsoft Purview would be a plus.
Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the migration, design the architecture, and ensure that the new setup supports analytics, forecasting, and AI enablement. Your key responsibilities will include designing and delivering scalable BI solutions using Microsoft Fabric, building and managing data pipelines with OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, and Data Factory, and developing semantic models in Power BI while integrating with DirectLake or Warehouse datasets. You will also optimize data models for performance and reusability, support governance, security, and compliance best practices in our modern data platform, handle tooling for migration and reconciliation of data from legacy systems or acquisitions, and provide technical support and hands-on data engineering across the full stack.

We are a well-established business based in Brentford, embarking on a significant transformation journey as we move from legacy systems to a modern Microsoft ecosystem built on Azure and Fabric. Our BI & Data team operates mostly remotely, with office collaboration occurring up to once per week alongside the wider team and other business stakeholders. You will be rewarded with a salary of up to £60,000, depending on experience, as well as flexible remote working arrangements and the opportunity to play a key role in our major data transformation project.
