Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for an analytical individual with strong mathematical and logical thinking capabilities who is capable of questioning and validating results.
- The ideal candidate must be delivery-focused and genuinely care about shipping solutions rather than just theoretical concepts.
- Curiosity and assertiveness are key; the candidate should be comfortable asking “why,” diving into data, and challenging assumptions.
- This role requires a collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively with developers, quality assurance teams, professional services, and clients.
- A commercial awareness of energy and commodities middle-office workflows, even at a high level, is essential.
- A recent graduate or someone with up to 3+ years of experience in a relevant domain (energy, commodities, or financial services) in an analyst or consulting role is preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL or Excel and strong data analysis skills are a must.
- I value the ability to turn business needs into clear, testable specifications and implementation plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, along with strong organizational and prioritization abilities, are necessary.
- A degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering is desirable.
Responsibilities
- In this role, I expect you to gather and clarify requirements, scope and analyze clients’ data analytics and reporting needs, and define deliverables.
- You will produce clear Business and Functional Requirements (BRD/FRD) while keeping stakeholders aligned on scope and timelines.
- It will be your responsibility to analyze client issues, explain system behavior, and validate and reconcile engine-level outputs, such as Pricing Curves, VaR, PFE, and P&L.
- Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect triage will be crucial to ensuring timely resolution and high-quality delivery.
- You will document processes, configurations, and user instructions.
- It will be important for you to support users, troubleshoot software questions, and track actions through to closure.
- You will also help shape the product roadmap for analytics as the market evolves, particularly in areas like renewables, battery storage, and green derivatives.

This Product Owner role in Analytics offers a fantastic opportunity for an analytical candidate, whether a recent graduate or an early-career analyst, who is looking to transition into product management. You will work closely with both front-office and middle-office stakeholders within the energy and commodities trading sectors. Joining our tight-knit product team of 6 globally means you will work on market-leading risk solutions and have exposure to top-tier clients across oil, gas, and commodity trading houses. This position also offers the chance to learn from experienced quants and product managers, rapidly building your product ownership skills. You will contribute to the next generation of analytics products that support renewables, energy transition, and new market derivatives.
