Requirements

Must:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) - Strong expertise in the AWS Well-Architected Framework - Advanced knowledge of AWS services including API Gateway, CloudFront, WAF, VPC, Lambda, EKS, Fargate, and S3 - Proven experience hosting Single Page Applications (SPAs) such as Angular on S3 and CloudFront - Expertise in API security (mTLS, certificate-based authentication, Azure AD integration) - Demonstrable experience producing HRB documentation, DPIAs, and data governance artifacts - Strong focus on GDPR compliance and regulatory alignment - Track record of collaborating with development, testing, business teams, and regulators - Strong pensions domain knowledge - Good understanding of market integration

Responsibilities

- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions (serverless, containerised, hybrid/multi-cloud) aligned to the AWS Well-Architected Framework - Build secure, highly available architectures with AWS WAF, CloudFront, NACLs, and Security Groups, including hybrid networking between on-premises and cloud - Design and secure APIs with AWS API Gateway, applying mTLS, certificate-based authentication, and Azure AD integration - Host and optimise Single Page Applications (SPAs) such as Angular using S3 and CloudFront for global delivery, ensuring security and performance - Produce high-level architecture documents, model integrations in LeanIX, and embed GDPR and data governance principles into solution design - Drive AWS cost efficiencies through right-sizing, autoscaling, and effective service selection - Work closely with development, testing, and business teams to ensure architectures are implementable, secure, and aligned with business needs - Integrate observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Datadog, defining KPIs and dashboards for operational excellence

We are searching for a highly skilled and certified AWS Solutions Architect to design, deliver, and optimize secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions. In this role, I will play a key part in shaping enterprise-grade architectures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling digital transformation within a highly regulated environment. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced architect with strong technical knowledge of AWS, security, data governance, and integration patterns, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with business teams, auditors, and regulators. The position is a 6-month contract with a hybrid working pattern, requiring three days in the office per week, and offers a day rate of £504.90 (Inside IR35) with the potential for an extension.
